How to setup VPN between FVS318 and windows 2000

How to test Netgear ProSafe VPN connection

You may have many options to test the VPN connection.

  1. Using ping: in DOS command, type ping remote IP, for example, ping 192.168.0.1 /t. It will receive timeout at the first and then reply. You can cancel the ping by using ctrl+C.
  2. Running a program in the remote computer, for example RDC.
  3. Mapping a remote network drive, for example, net use \\chicagotech\ms-mvps.
  4. Connecting manually. To test the VPN connection, right-click the Netgear VPN icon in the System Tray, and click Connect. Choose the new connection you just created. If you have been successful a pop-up box Manual Connection Status reads "Successfully connected...."
