Configure the ports of Firewall or security software to allow sharing

If you can't access a networking computer or can see it but access, it may be the firewall or the security software block the sharing ports as listed below, especially third-party firewall.

For accessing Vista, you need have these ports open.

UDP 3702
TCP 5357
TCP 5358

For accessing Vista and XP, you need have these ports open.

UDP 137
UDP 138
TCP 139
TCP 445

For access network devices, you must allow the following incoming traffic:

UDP 1900
TCP 2869
