How to configure Windows Authentication

In our case, we installed and configured Cisco ACS to manage network access using PEAP.

To configure XP to use PEAP, right click on the connection and select Properties. Then click on Authentication. Make sure the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network is checked. In EAP type, select Protected EAP (PEAP). To specify that client computers attempt authentication to the network if a user is not logged on, select the Authenticate as computer when computer information is available check box. By selecting the Authenticate as computer when computer information is available check box, the computer will be able to talk the other network devices such as switch and DHCP before logon. That helps logon faster.

Click Properties to continue PEAP settings.
