Troubleshooting multihomed master browser issue

It is not recommended to setup multihomed server as a domain controller. If you do, you may experience master browser issue and receive Event ID 8021 - The browser was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master <\\<CurrentMasterBrowser>> on the network \Device\<Protocol>_<NetworkAdapter> and 8032 - The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\<Protocol>_<NetworkAdapter>.

If you have only one server as dc and router with two NICs, you may try to unbind the WINS Client (TCP/IP) interface from all your adaptors except for one. This will unbind the NetBIOS, Workstation, and Server interfaces from this card so that you may fix the issue.

To unbind the WINS Client (TCP/IP) interface, follow these steps:

1.

In Control Panel, double-click Network.

2.

Click the Bindings tab.

3.

In the Show Bindings For box, select All Adapters.

4.

Expand all the adaptors.

5.

Select WINS Client (TCP/IP), and then click Disable.
