System error 53 If you can net view IP while net view \\hostname gives you "System error 53 has occurred" and "The network path was not found", you may have the Name Resolution issue. I make sure you have correct DNS settings. 2. Have you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP? 3. You may need WINS if you have a mixed OS environment. 4. You may try LMHOSTS.
