How to add WINS to DHCP

To assign WINS to all networking clients using DHCP, you may want to add WINS to the DHCP. To do that, follow these steps.

1. Open DHCP by going to Administrative Tools.

2. Click the DHCP server, for example, ChicagoTech.

3. Right-click on Scope Options, select Configure Options.

4. On the right pane, check two new Scope options:

  • 044 WINS/NBNS Servers - add the address of WINS server(s)
  • 046 WINS/NBT Node - configure as 0x8 (H-Node)
