How to restore Favorite Links  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

There are two ways to restore the Favorite link.

I. Restore favorite links.

1. Open Windows Explorer (Windows 7) or File Explorer (Windows 8/8.1).

2. Right click on Favorites in the navigation pane, and click on Restore favorite links. (see screenshot below)


II. Modify the registry.

You could try the registry (type regedit in the start menu search bar) and navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Look to see if Favorites is in the list. If not, add a new string value (edit->new->string value) and call it Favorites.

Then right-click the new entry & Modify it to read c:\users\[your user name]\Favorites
