Windows FTP Security Settings.

In general, there are four methods to control access to a Windows FTP sites: NTFS Permissions, IIS permissions, IP address restrictions, and authentication method. NTFS permissions are always your first line of defense as a network sharing.

By default, IIS permissions are Read and Log visits. To setup IIS permissions, go to Administrative Tools>IIS>FTP Server. Right click on  are specified on Default FTP Site and select the Properties. Then select the Home Directory tab. 

You can restrict people access the FTP site by adding IP addresses or DNS name, and  to the Directory Security tab under the Default FTP Site.

By default, the Allow anonymous connections is selected for public to access the FTP feom  the Internet. If it is for the intranet or you want to people logon, you need to clear this checkbox to prevent anonymous access to your site. With Allow anonymous connections disabled, vistors use Basic Authentication to logon the FTP site.
