How to Add a FTP Server as a folder in Windows Explorer

1.   Open Windows Explorer  and choose the “Map Network Drive” option.

    • Vista location: if the Tools don’t show up, press alt key.
    • XP location: Tools Menu

2. Choose the option at the bottom that reads:
  • Vista: “Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures”
  • XP: “Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server”

3. In Add Network Location, click Next to continue.

4. Click “Choose a custom network location”

5. Enter in the FTP address for the site, for example ftp://transfer.chicagobotanic.org/vendor.

6. Uncheck Log in Anonymous. Enter the username for the FTP server (you will be prompted for the password when you connect), for example sc.

7. Choose a Name for your FTP Server.

8. Click Finish to close the wizard.

9. You should have a new folder pointing to the FTP server you just created.

10. To access the FTP server, double click on it. You will be prompted for entering the password.

11. After logon, you should have upload or download files.
