How to use FTP in IE 6 and IE 7

To access a FTP site, open Internet Browser and type the address, for example, ftp://ftp.chicagotech.net. The Login As screen displays as below if you are running IE 6 or previous version. If the Login As doesn’t display, click File on the top menu and then select Login As.

Type the User name and password assigned to you. Click Login and you will see a screen as below.

If you receive “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”, you are running IE 7 or high version.

Go to the Page button in internet explorer located in the upper right hand corner. Click on the small black arrow next to “Page” and this will open a menu. Chose “Open FTP site in Windows Explorer”.

It will open Windows Explorer as shown below. If you don’t have File on the top menu, press “alt” key, click File and then select Login As.

The Login As window will open.  Enter the user name and password. Now, you should be able to drop and dopy files and/or folders.
