How to Run Performance and Reliability Monitor

Windows Vista includes Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor, which enables you to track the performance impact of applications and services, and to generate alerts or take action when user-defined thresholds for optimum performance are exceeded. Monitor provides you with a quick, visual view of the average stability of your system. In addition, it tracks events that will help you identify what causes reductions in reliability.

There are different methods to start Reliability and Performance Monitor.

A. Start it with MMC.

1.

Click Start, right-click Computer, and click Manage.

2.

In the Microsoft Management Console navigation tree, click Reliability and Performance.

B. Start from Start.

1. Click Start.

2. Type perform.

3. Double-click on Reliability and Performance Monitor.
