How to setup Primary and Secondary WINS Server

If you have two or more WINS servers in your network and would like to replicate WINS database, it is recommended each WINS server always point to itself as Primary WINS only. This configuration avoids split registrations and other problems. Add other WINS server as replicate partner. In most cases, you will keep the Secondary WINS Server blank.

To setup WINS, open Network Connections, right click on the Local Area Connection>Properties>TCP/IP>Properties>Advanced>WINS, type the WINS servers’ IPs.
