1. CACLS or xcalcs - Check and set permission tools,  for example, to display a file name called chicagotech.txt, use this command: cacls chicagotech.txt. 
2. SRVCHECK - The Server Share Check tool is designed for Windows Server 2003, but it also works with Windows 2000 and Windows XP. To do so, just enter the following command, where servername is the name of the server that you want to test: 
SRVCHECK \\servername
