How to Configure IP Reservations for RRAS Clients in Windows 2000 Normally, when you configure a DHCP reservation, you use a MAC address, but remote access clients (such as PPTP) do not have a MAC address. However, you can manually assign an IP address that is based upon a domain account instead of a MAC address. Note: the user has to be a member of a Native mode domain. Configure IP Reservations for RRAS 1. In Active Directory Users and Computers, view the users. 2. Right-click the user you want to assign a static IP address, and then click Properties. 3. On the Dial-in tab, assign a static IP address.
