How to Create a Host (A) Record on Server 2008 DNS

1. Open DNS Manager

2. Choose the Forward Lookup Zone you want to work with, in this case it is chicagotech.net and right click on it. Select New Host (A or AAAA) and left click on it.

3. The New host window will now popup allowing you to enter the name. In our case, we will create A record to point to www.chicagotech.net which is located in DMZ using IP 172.254.0.4. Click Add Host when done.

4. After that, you should have the A record listed in the zone.
