How to manage Mailbox Database in Exchange 2010

A mailbox database is an Exchange database that contains user mailboxes. To manage the mailbox database, navigate to Organization Configuration>Mailbox, open The Database Management tab.. When you select a mailbox database, the following actions are available either by right-clicking the mailbox database name or by using the action pane.

Mount/Dismount Database
Click Mount Database to mount the selected mailbox database. The database is accessible by users after it's mounted.
Click Dismount Database to dismount the selected database.

Move Database Path
Click Move Database Path to move the mailbox database path on the Exchange server.

Add Mailbox Database Copy
Click Add Mailbox Database Copy to add a copy of a mailbox database. When you add a copy of a mailbox database, replication is automatically enabled between the existing database and the database copy.

Remove
Click Remove to delete the selected database.
The database file (.edb) that you remove isn't automatically deleted from the disk. To recover the disk space, note the location of the database file and remove it manually. The location of the database file is displayed in the warning that appears after you remove the database.

Properties
Click Properties to view or modify the properties of the selected mailbox database.
