How to verify Office 365 MEU properties are populated with the correct information - Step by step with screenshots 

 

After converting the on-premises mailboxes in the migration batch to mail-enabled users (MEU), you may want to verify that the MEU properties are populated with the correct information. Here are how.

 

A. Windows PowerShell

1. Open Windows PowerShell with running administrator.

2.  run this command: Get-user username.


  

B. ADSI Edit

1. Run ADSI Edit.

2. Navigate to DC=domainname,DC=com>CN=Users.

3. Right click on the user you want to modify, select Properties.

4. Find targetaddress. If the value is <Not Set>, the user is on-premise mailbox user. If the value is SMTP: username(##)@yourcompnayname.onmicrsoft.com, the user is mail-enabled user.

 

3. EMC

1. Open Exchange Management Console.

2. The MEU should be moved from Mailbox folder to Mail Contact folder. Note: you can the MEU is Mail User in Recipient Type Details.
