How to promote a volume in EqualLogic Replication Partners. - Step by step with screenshots

We configure two EqualLogic SAN (let's call them active SAN and Standby SAN) to replica data for our Microsoft Failover Cluster. This article will show you how to promote a volume in a case active SAN is down,  we will need to promote a volume in Standby SAN to be active for Failover Cluster access.

1. Login EqualLogic Standby SAN.

2. Click Replication on the left pane.

3. Click Active SAN group name (which is down now) and navigate to Inbound Replicas.

4. Right click one the volume you want to promote and select Promote to volume.

5. After a few minutes, you should be able to see the volume if you have iSCSI setup the Standby SAN IP address.
