Deploy Microsoft Update to Fix Open Ports Used by Trojans

 

In this example, we will show you how to fix a high security vulnerability, backdoors - open ports commonly used by Trojans virus. When LANguard scans a computer, it checks the Microsoft updates against the Microsoft update database. If it finds a critic update missing, the LANguard will mark the computer as High Security Vulnerability computer with red code.

 

With LANguard, you can fix this issue easily by following these steps.

 

1. In Scan Results Overview, navigate the computer with High Security Vulnerability. Click Vulnerability Assessment and then High Security Vulnerabilities.

 

2. In the right pan, right-click on the computer that you wish to update and select Remediate Deploy>Microsoft updates>Service packs on or right click on the missing patch or missing update in the right pan, select Deploy Microsoft Update>Service Patch on.

 

3. GFI LANguard will automatically bring up the Deploy Microsoft Service Packs screen. It will list Update file name, State (the state should  be Not downloaded) and Service Pack information.

4. Right click on the update file name and select download file. The State shows Downloaded.

5. LANguard will process to download and install the update.

6. After completing the installation, the port is closed and Vulnerability lowers to Medium.
