How to install SBS SP1

The installation of Windows SBS SP1 includes installing Standard Edition of Windows SBS 2003.

Before you install Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1

  • Review the Windows Small Business Server 2003 Upgrade Best Practices (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=47031). The document recommends tasks that you should complete, such as disabling anti-virus software, before you begin an upgrade.

  • Read the release notes (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=41392). These notes contain information that was not available when these instructions were written.

  • This service pack cannot be uninstalled. Before installing Service Pack 1 for Windows SBS, we strongly recommend that you perform a complete backup of your existing Windows SBS installation. For information about how to back up your server, see "Setup Best Practices" at the Microsoft Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=44619).

Download and save the following updates into the SP1 folder:
  1. Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
  2. Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Service Pack 1
  3. Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1
  4. Windows XP SP2 for Client Deployment
  5. Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1
