How to create an iSCSI disk for DPM Storage Pool  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

To create a disk for DPM, the disk must be Dynamic type. Also, if it is larger than 2TB, you must create GPT partition. Here is how.

1. Open Disk Management.

2. Highlight the disk and select initialize Disk.


3. If the disk is larger than 2TB, select GPT.   

4. The initialization create only Basic type disk. Right click on the disk and then Convert to Dynamic Disk.   

5. After converting the disk to Dynamic, don't format it.

6. Run DPM console.

7. Click Management and then Add.

8. Follow the wizard to add the disk.
