What are different between IDE and SCSI in Hyper-V

You can add IDE or SCSI disk to a Hyper-V VM. But what are different between them?

  1. The boot disk must be on an IDE controller.
  2. Each IDE controller can have two devices. Normally, you will setup first disk on IDE controller 0 Device 0. If you need a CDROM, you will consume an IDE device slot.
  3. EACH SCSI controller can support up to 255 devices.
  4. In most cases, you add second disk to SCSI.
