How to restore folders or files using Veeam File-Level Backup - Step by step with screenshots

With Veeam Backup & Replication, we can restore folders and/or files from the VM backup to the original location or different location. Here are how.

1. In Veeam, click Restore and then select the host, Hyper-V in our example.

2. Since we would like to restore a folder from a VM, check Guest files (Windows).

3. Select VM you want to restore the files.

4. Select the restore point.

5. Enter the Restore reason

6. Click Finish in Summary.

7. Now, the Backup Browser will let you browse to the folders or files you want to restore. Highlight the folder or file you want to restore or copy. Click Restore (will restore to the original location) or Copy to (will copy to different location).

8. If you click Copy to, you will have an option to choose destination location.
9. Click OK to copy.
