How to install a Guest OS image in ESX 4.1

There are many options to install a guest OS in VMware ESX. Here are some example.
1. Install a guest OS from the host DVD
2. Install a guest OS from the host storage
3. Install a guest OS from the vSphere Client DVD
4. Install a guest OS from the vSphere Client storage

 

To select the installation resource, click Settings on the Virtual machine. Select CD/DVD Drive 1 in the Hardware. In the right pane, select the device as instillation resource. For example, to install the OS from the client device check the Connected to this clientConnect at power on, and Client device.
