How to Disable/Enable Index Service in Vista

1. Click on the Start Menu.
2. Type services and press Enter.
3. Click Continue button for UAC prompt.
4. Scroll down and right double-click on Windows Search.
5. To Disable/Enable the Index, select the Disable/Automatic from Startup type.
6. Click OK to save the settings.
7. Reboot the computer.
