How to setup Vista as VPN host

 

1. Open Network and Sharing Center. You can do it by click Start>Network. Or Start>Control Panel.

 

2. Click on Manage network connections.

 

3. In the Network connection screen, press Alt and select File or do an Alt+F to open the File menu and choose New Incoming Connection.

4. In Allow connect to this computer screen, select the users who may connect to this computer

5. Select how they may access the machine, for example through the Internet.

6. In Network software allows this computer to accept connections from other kinds of computers screen, you have an option to setup "Allow callers to access my local area network", or assign IP addresses.

7.After clicking Allow Access, it will finish the configuration with VPN host computer name. Note: in most cases, the VPN host is behind a router/firewall, you may need to know the public IP address to access it.
