Network Design for Small Business  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

As you may know, "Windows SBS 2011 Standard, which includes Exchange Server and SharePoint Foundation, will be the final such Windows SBS offering". To meet our clients' need, we have design some networks for small business.

 

A. One physical server running two VMs, one for Exchange and another one for SQL or other application.

 

 


  

 

B. Two physical servers with Hyper-V Replica enabled - this is for redundancy and manual failover.

 

 

C. Two hosts run Windows 2012 Domain Controllers. Active SBS 2008 runs as VM on Primary Server with Hyper-V Replica enabled. Standby SBS 2008 is VM (off) on Replica Server with Hyper-V Replica enabled.

 

D. Two hosts run Windows 2012 as the member server of SBS 2008. Active SBS 2008 run as VM on Primary Server with Hyper-V Replica enabled. Standby SBS 2008 is VM (off) on Replica Server with Hyper-V Replica enabled.
