How to create Windows To Go in Windows Enterprise - Step by step with screenshots 

 

1. Before creating Windows To Go, please check the requirements from this post: Windows To Go and requirements

2. Connect your Windows To Go certified USB drive to your machine. Note: The Windows To Go creator wizard is only available on Windows Enterprise clients.

3. Copy install.wim file from the \sources\ directory of the Windows 8 install ISO or DVD to the local computer.

4. On the Start App or press WIN+W, type windows to go, and press enter to start the Windows To Go Creator Wizard

 


  

5. On the Choose the drive you want to use page, select the drive that represent the USB drive.

 

 

6. On the Choose a Windows 8 image page, if you don't see the Enterprise image, click Add Search Location and then navigate to the install.wim you copied before.


7. On the Set a BitLocker password (optional) page, you have an option to select Use BitLocker with my Windows To Go Workspace to encrypt your Windows To Go drive. If you do not wish to encrypt the drive at this time click Skip. You can also decide later and enable BitLocker once you have booted into your WTG device. If you choose to encrypt now:

8. On the Ready to create your Windows To Go workplace, click Create to start the process.

 

9.When finish, you can choose a boot options.


10. Now, you can booting your Windows To Go workspace from the USB drive.
