A. Microsoft Commands

* BROWCON: NetBIOS Browsing Console (Browcon.exe) IS a utility that you can use to troubleshoot NetBIOS network browsing problems.

* BROWSTAT: Browstat.exe is an extremely powerful command-line tool that can help you determine the root cause of a browsing issue and then help to fix it.

* MSCONFIG: msconfig.exe is useful utility to troubleshoot configuration errors. it comes with  in Microsoft Windows 98 and XP but not 2000. You can download the XP version of msconfig in a windows 2000 computer.

* PortQry: PortQry is a TCP/IP connectivity testing utility.

The DNS tool (Dnscmd.exe) is a command-line utility that enables you to manage and obtain statistics from local and remote DNS servers.

The Nltest.exe tool is a command-line tool that helps perform administrative tasks such as forcing a user-account database into sync, getting a list of primary domain controllers (PDCs), forcing a shutdown, and querying and checking on the status of a trust relationship.

The Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol Ping tools (Pptpclnt.exe and Pptpsrv.exe) are utilities you use to verify that the required protocol and port for Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) is being routed between a PPTP client and a PPTP server.

The Remote Command Line tool (Remote.exe) is a utility to run command-line programs on remote computers.

The RPC Connectivity Verification tool consists of the Rpings.exe file for the server and the Rpingc32.exe, Rpingc16.exe, Rpingdos.exe files for the client. These utilities can confirm RPC connectivity between Microsoft Exchange Server and any of the supported Microsoft Exchange Client workstations on the network.

The Service Controller Query tool (Sc.exe) provides a way to communicate with Service Controller (Services.exe) from the command prompt to retrieve information about services.
