How to modify registry to prevent RRAS from handing out WINS and DNS addresses

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To prevent RRAS from handing out the WINS server addresses, use Registry Editor to add a REG_DWORD value named SuppressWINSNameServers to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\Parameters\IP

Set the value for SuppressWINSNameServers to 1.

To prevent RRAS from handing out DNS server addresses, use Registry Editor to add a REG_DWORD value named SuppressDNSNameServers to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\Parameters\IP

Set the value for SuppressDNSNameServers to 1.
