Troubleshooting Browsing over VPN - A3: Ping the VPN server by IP.

Can't ping - reason 3 (reason 1, reason 2)

Another reason is you may have incorrected routing table. to troubleshooting, you may use ipconfig /all to compare both VPN server and client TCP/IP settings. if the server LAN IP is different from VPN client PPTP IP and you use windows server as the VPN server, make sure you have enabled IP routing and have NAT setup correctly.

To check the routing table, do "route print" command line. Verify you can route to the remote site. You may also use tracert and pathping command lines to find out where is the traffic to go.
