How Configure iSCSI Target on Windows

This article shows how to configure iSCSI Target as an attached drive based on Windows 2019.

1.Install iSCSI Initiator

•Open Server Manager

•Click on Add roles and features.

* In the Server Roles, check File and Storage Services

•File Server iSCSI Target Server.

* In the Server Roles, check File and Storage Services

* Click Install in Confirm installation selections

2. Run iSCSI Initiator

* Open iSCSI Initiator from Server Manager

•Type Target IP address or DNS name.

•Click on Quick Connect….

Discovered target popup.

•Make sure Status is Connect.

Progress report shows Login Succeeded.

•Now, You should have the iSCSI target connected.

•Click OK to save the settings.

Note: If the Connect To Target popup, you have an option click on Advanced to

* You have option to Enable CHAP log on

3. Setup iSCSI Target as a drive on the Server

•Go to Server manager>Tools>Computer Management

•Click on Disk Management

•Right click on the new Disk (Unknown)

•Click on Online.

* Right click the Disk and then Initialize Disk.

* Check the partition and click OK.

•Now, the Disk is online with Unallocated.

•Right click on it and then New Simple Volume….

* Click Next on Welcome page.

* Select the size and click Next.

* Assign drive letter.

Perform a quick format the drive with Volume label.

* Click Finish to complete the new drive settings.
