Procedure for Switching to the New Comcast Service

Step 1:

After Comcast completes the installation and has the modem ready, please have the technician test it, or you may choose to test it yourself using a laptop connected to the new modem. Ensure that the speed is around 1.25GB.

Step 2:

If you are satisfied with the speed, please provide me with the public IP addresses so that I can reconfigure the SonicWALL Firewall.

Step 3:

After reconfiguring the firewall, I will restart it to apply the changes. During this time, you will need to switch the Ethernet cable from the current modem to the new modem.

Step 4:

The restart may take 5 to 10 minutes, which means we may experience a 10-minute internet outage. Afterward, we can test the speed. Keep in mind that the LAN speed inside the firewall may be slightly slower than the test from the Comcast modem; this is normal.
